Freezing during playback

Hi guys,
when I play back a recording from a fta channel it is faultless but when I play back a recording from a premium channel it freezes completely quite often and I have to fast forward (x16) to release it. Anybody know the cause of this and of any fix, many thanks (tm 2t oe currently using 4d build 6/7/13)

Hi mate

Do you notice any freezing on the channel during the recording or only when you play back ?
I try to understand if the problem is from the line you use or is a malfunction of your box.

I'm not watching the channel while I'm recording it. I'm either watching another channel or the box is off. I do get some freezes on premium channels though and I wonder if this happens when I'm recording would it cause it to totally freeze, as I've described, during playback?

try watching while recording and see if it on the same spot that it freeze.

Just tested it. Recorded a premium channel for 15 mins and took a note of when freezes occurred. It was even worse than before. When I watched the playback sure enough it froze completely where the first freeze was but this time it had actually stopped recording and returned me to the file list although when I was watching it, it said it was still recording.

The OP is using a TM-2T-OE as stated in the initial post, my interpretation of this as it only seems to be the Premium channels that are having problems is either his broadband or the supplier of his Line

Maybe the version you use on the box has some bug on the recording.
Did you have problem with earlier version?

Yes, I know what stb he is using. I asked how his hdd is connected and whether it is internal or external.
OP should try an extended test on a fta channel so we can determine if it is indeed only on premium channels, which would point to server, broadband, etc.
If it happens on fta channels as well it would be something else.

It's an internal hdd. Tested 3 fta hd channels again this morning and again the recording was perfect. Recorded a premium channel in sd last night and that seemed a bit better, froze a couple of times but cleared when I fast forwarded (x16....lower than this doesn't work for some reason). My download speed is fine 15mbps, happens when there is a freeze on the transmission.

Try to record a scrambled channel that is decoded by internal emu of ccc*am and report here.
It's to check if problem comes from unscrambling system in general, or it's related to ecm delays.

I was with vix before (been on 4d for the last week) and had a few similar problems.

What emu are you using to decode the channels?

No.
Ccc*am can decode in two ways:
- cline (decripted control word is sent from cs server); it's what you call "premium channel"
- internal emu (dcw is processed internally by emu)

Of course, to make this test, you need to record a channel whose crypto system is broken, provided you have the correct ke*ys in soft*cam.k*ey
