when I'm watching a premium channel on my 2t oe it's usually fairly glitch free but when I record another station at the same time it tends to freeze constantly. Is there a way to solve this problem, many thanks

Is the second channel scrambled too ?
In this case, and if the second channel is decoded by the same (satlover) cline, it's normal. And you risk to be banned too (for the high rate of ecms).

What's the point in being given 2 c lines? Why should someone be banned for simply watching a premium channel whilst recording another. Seems rather heavy handed if you ask me.

My question has exclusively technical reasons: using the same cline for two channels is quite different from using two clines.
Anyway there is no problem if you have two clines and the second channel is decoded by the second cline.
But if both channels are decoded by the same cline, no doubt your ecm's rate is double and, AFAIK, it's something against rules.
Usually cs server's admins ask for an extra fee if user is using the cline in this way.
In any case, user should ask for a special permission.

how many clines do you have activated? sometimes when i have more than 4 active lines my satellite receiver overheats and i experience freezing issues

Just the 2.....do you know if there is any way of pairing a cline to a specific tuner? If I was able to do this I think it would solve the problem of freezes when recording another channel.

are the channels on the same satellite? Do you have a motorised dish or a static dish?

It happens whether the channels are on the same satellite or not. Sometimes it isn't too bad but sometimes there are constant freezes. I have a static dish with feeds from h/bird, astra 19.2 & 28.2 into tuner a, and another feed from 28.2 into tuner b

freezing is normal for all of us (once a week or so) more freezing when your server is not that good (too many users). freezing may also happen because of poor internet connection.

I think we're getting a bit off track here.....my internet connection is a ok, and I'm happy with my server. My problem is with freezing when recording another channel...by the sounds of things there's no solution to this, but thanks to all who have taken the time to reply

You have 2 different lines.
The vps line is stronger than the other which is just for backup.
That's why you watch one channel ok but the other that is recording has a lot of freezes or the opposite.

You can use both lines for watching but from my expirience you don't need the second line.
Use only one and you will have better results.

As far as the recording... it's simple...
You can't use both of your tuners to watch and record simultaneously, because as other mate said you will increase the rate of asked ecms and probably you will be banned from the server.
That's one of the rules for using the server.

About your question for using each line for specific tuner ...
it's not possible.

nothing to do with the fact if you use 2 different clines or not, but my experience is: watching a sd channel and recording another sd channel (fta or scrambled) works well - when I watch and record a hd channel, I'm also getting heavy freezes. I'm using usb, seems that's the reason -> speed to low due to power consumption or so. Might help you.

If you pay and get 2 x clines you should be aloud to watch 2 channels scrambled or not, most rx allow at least 2 channels to watch and record. To ban is a bit big brother especially if you pay for it, using free clines I can understand. I appreciate only 1 rx should be used.
