Amiko Alien 2 password

Got one of these in front of me , has a password on the Menu so can't do anything with it .

Tried flashing with usb as per instructions , no joy , it won't update .

Any ideas please , ideally i would like to flash a new image , Spark .. with the serial cable but i can't find a loader as i tried various usb's and none work .

you should trying Upgrade Spark by TFTP...

Some instructions ...


Preparation:
1. Install TFTP tools [csicotftp11.rar] to your PC
2. Set your PC IP addr to [192.168.40.19]
3. connect your PC to STB by LAN, now we only support LAN, do not support WLAN
4. Set default booting system to [spark]
Upgrade Step:
1. copy [mImage] and [userfsub.img] to any folder of your PC, for example [C:/spark]
3. Keep Pressing [OK] Button in Front Panel, then power on STB.
4. After 5 seconds you will see [Forc] in LED, release [OK] button and press [Right]
Button.
5. if everything OK, You will see [T LD] shining in LED and you will see some debug
information in TFTP Server

you have try put rescue image first for spark,then when you do that may put e2

I sorted it with a certain usb stick in the end , after trying 6 of them ... so the lesson here is you need to have the right usb stick and it's going to work .

yes...Kingson with small Kbs...say 1Kb is enough

Kingston does seem to be the brand of choice for these, however I have got a 64Gb Kingston that works fine, so it seems that size isn't important...
