    Skybox f5. HDMI known fault?

Anyone else having problems with their hdmi output on their skybox f5.
i noticed that if the hdmi cable moves to far up or down the picture disappears.
I thought it was just my f5 but my friend also has the same problem, is it a know fault due to poor design?

Skybox receivers are reliable. I think the hdmi problem must be the fault of the manufacturer. If you still have a valid warranty on your f5, try to contact the seller where you bought it and get it changed or repaired.

Skybox F3 very reliable, Skybox F5 a lot had manufacturing faults loose Ethernet port, badly
fitted heat sink would short out the F5 if lightly pressed, poorly alligned IR sensor so remote
had to be dead close to box but this is the first I've heard about the HDMI cable problem.

Look at both ends F5 and T.V see that the cable is not loose at either end also try changing
the cable one from the £ shop will do if the problem is still then I would say a fault on the box
      mybe badly soldered in.

I personally think its going to be a dry solder joint, the only problem is the f5 has no way of taking the cover off to check, no visible screws. Any way i might have to take a saw to it but will try a new cable first.

            Hello

You probably have a receiver with faulty hdmi.

Did you try the rca out to see if you still have problem?
If rca output works ok, you can use it and you will lose a bit in the quality of the picture.
