Re: Venton unibox hd1 & hd2
Hi mate
They are both Linux based receivers with good quality and reasonable price.
Venton Unibox HD1
Code:The Venton Unibox HD1 is a great single tuner Linux receiver which stands up against the competition in this price range. The UNiBOX HD1 has a good amount of ram, feels fast and I also like the 8 character display on the front of the box. The stock image included works pretty but I do prefer the third party image from OpenAAF. There were some remote control button inconsistencies initially but most things seems to have been fixed. I only experienced on lock up which was using the third party Egami Image when I started a recording. This was in an early version of the Egami software mind you and not one I saw on other Images I have tried.
Code:The Unibox HD2 gives a good overall impression. It is very stylish with its brushed aluminium look and very versatile with its pluggable tuner support. There are several Image teams with support for this receiver but the most feature packed seems to be the Egami Image. Picture quality and zapping speed is quite good and it seems pretty stable apart from the Picture in Picture mode where we had issues. If you are looking for a pluggable twin tuner Linux receiver right now the Unibox HD2 is a good choice.

Re: Venton unibox hd1 & hd2
Venton receivers have support from many image teams
like Openvix, OpenAAF that gives very good Enigma 2 images,
but the most used is the Egami Image. If You Like My Post..... Please Press the Thanks ButtonComment

Re: Venton unibox hd1 & hd2
Venton receivers have many problems with the stability of the image.
They have crashes and generally Egami image seems to have many bugs.
Personally, I prefer gigablue 800 se because it's more stable and seems to have very good support.
It's like a dreambox but it's price is the half that dm.
Works very well with cccam and others cams.If You Like My Post..... Please Press the Thanks ButtonComment

Re: Venton unibox hd1 & hd2
I said that the price of the gigablue is the half of an original dreambox.
Gigablue has the same price as venton... yes
All known images support gigablue.

Re: Venton unibox hd1 & hd2
Yes i would say gigablue has the same price as venton unibox hd1.
I have read that venton can support all of dreambox 800 se image unpatched using a plugin named "egami". Do you know if is true and how it works?Comment

Re: Venton unibox hd1 & hd2
Some of venton unibox hd1 had problems with boot and reboot due to a capacitor issue:
Box Boots just yourself important information and solutions
we had some users of Venton Unibox HD1 often the info that your boxes just so new start or the Box Starts endlessly over again.
one we have at Venton given this issue further, and the service has Cause Found:
A SMD capacitor has to be an excessive tolerance and must be replaced.
As this conversion can be performed only by a qualified person must be submitted to the Box OfficeComment

Re: Venton unibox hd1 & hd2
Venton receivers are very good, the Egami image is quite stable. I do not experienced all these crashes the others reporting.
I think the HD2 is the best option. For a difference of few Euro, in my opinion HD2 offer someting else that can be useful compared to Hd1 plus.Comment
