OPENBOX S9 or Dream 500HD

What's your opinion,
what is the better choice, OPENBOX S9 or Dream 500HD.
The OPENBOX S9 is much cheaper and with Linux too.
Is there another firm than by dream?

I found an Edision Argus Mini IP HDTV for the same prize at the Openbox.
Is this an good alternative too?

I think the dreambox is a better choice if you have some knowledge of linux receiver.
But if you don't know how to set-up this kind of box, the openbox is more user friendly.

The price is also different, if you have enough to buy a dreambox, buy it ;-)

I have no knowledge of any linux receiver, but thats not the problem, i could it learn ;-)

The price ist another theme. The DM500HD is at the double price of an Openbox or edision

Indeed, you have to choose following your usage. If you just want a client (without the possibility to share a local with other) you can buy an Openbox.
If you want to have linux full capacities : Updated and opensource softcams like Oscam and a full Cccam distribution (client and server), many box firmware and many plugins you have to choose a dreambox or some other boxes on enigma...

The cause why I am not sure is:

how is the support of the Openbox in one or two years?

a Dreambox is nearly guarantie support for many years... but more expensive...

I have Openbox s10. First I had a problem with reebot when I used cccam. the new software resolved this problem. yes the price is 1/2 from price dreambox(clone) but dreambox is better. VU+ recivers are good

What is the difference between the S9 and S10 box?

How much is a VU+ Box with HD? Which model would you prefer?

I read some pages to compare the S9 and S10. It seems that the only differences between them are the size of the S10 (which is very small) and the scart connector (not available on S10).
Both have same component and memory inside.
I choose the S10 because I don't have much place for the receiver and this one is very small...

Yes I'm happy for a second receiver. I have also a dreambox 800hd clone attached to my main TV. The openbox is a client of the dream and is for my TV on my sleeping-room.
I was bluffed by the quality of the picture and the box size of the dreambox. But I'm not satisfied of the fav management...

yes difference betwen s9 and s10 is in size. And from VU recivers are good VU+solo, VU+duo and VU+uno
