moving house with open box s111

bascally i have got my cousins open box s11 and i brought it back to my house
after setting everything up the paid channels said no signal or scrambled so i decided to upgrade the software after upgrading the software and channel list everything is working fine i was just wondering now when i take it back to my cousins house will it be just plug and play or would i have to reinstall the software again.
if i would have to install the software again can i just do it all at my house without connecting the ethernet cable so that it would be plug and play.

This is a bit unfortunate that the box didn't work when moved to a different location. I think it should work when you take it back to your friend's house. No need to upgrade/downgrade the software. Make sure that the internet connection is active if you try to open an encrypted channel.

2nd part of your question: If due to some reason you have to upgrade/downgrade the software, No, you don't need an active Ethernet connection for that.

It will be just plug and play but remember still needs to connect to the internet
to be able to clear channels and one other thing inform your server that you
got the line from otherwise the change in ip might make him block that line or ip.

If you use USALS motor, i ahve had some situastion where the motor didnt work correctly after using diffrence receivers with diffrence sattelit possiotion settings. So that might be your problem. But you are saying that only the paid channels did not work. after you tok it to your home. This might have been with the internet settings. If you have manually internett settings then i think your problem was that your home nettwork did not use same nettwork option (ip, gateway etc..) as your cousins home nettwork. Allways use dhcp as you will get auto setup on every network you connect receiver to. Keep in mind mate

I have openbox and sometimes fall off the network setting DHCP, in which case I turn DHCP, and then everything works again. In your case may be the problem is in the settings of the DiseqC.

normally it should not give you trouble, maybe the temporary memory of your box have problems.
