openbox S11 advice and new guy help for best setup.

Hi guys, I would appreciate some advice on this as I'm very new to all this customisable satellite stuff.

If it helps any i am by day and IT Sys Admin so know my way around a PC, linux system and command line if needed, even though sometimes i can be quite blonde

Just got myself an openbox S11 as I'm looking to use it to view S*y UK etc with what I've worked out so far the CCcam client setup, but with that in mind there are a few options in the box i have no idea about and was hoping you guys could clear up for me.

AvatarCam Setup
MGCamD Plug Setup
Twin Protocol Setup
NewCamD Server Setup.

no idea what these options are for and if one of them would be a better alternative to CCcam client setup that I'm currently trying to use, at the moment I've managed to get a server with login details but most of the channels Stutter and Freeze constantly and are unwatchable, can anyone recommend or suggest a reputable service I could get a better quality offering from (happy to pay). I've found so many of them at the moment and so far none of them have been kind enough to provide a test account for me to see if there service is better than what I'm getting (even though I've asked)..

all the help and advice you can give is welcome as i want to get my head into this and make sure I've got a solid understanding of what is going on and what i need to-do etc. before committing to anything.

When you say the channels stutter and freeze, this means your cline is working and you got connection with the server. About freeservers: as you're new with few posts, lines may be unstable (one of the reasons is they're still spread all over the www by traitors, with overloaded server as result), the more usefull posts you have here, the better the clines and servers get - from 100 usefull posts there's an personal cline. About payservers: why not try a the premium lines from satlover? If you doubt: start with a short subscription eg a month).

Further - and really important - never use more than 1 cline of the same satlover server at the same time (forum rule to avoid ban).

thanks for the reply Pan, just to clear it up I'm not using a cccam server from here as a freebie, i was have spent most of the evening googling to find one that appears to work but as i say its stuttery and bad. i only wanted to get a test or free one to make sure it worked as i expected and things were fine but i was a little worries about paying for it incase it got no better.

might be a bit of a stupid question but how to i pay for the premium service from here to get the login details i need? sorry this is still quite new to me the fact i can do this without having to subscribe to S*y is still a little bit of a shock

thank you, the only bit that doesn't make sense to me in the premium membership bits is the following bit.

"For Server and channels to run non-stop 24 hours. Now New members are active during the day only twice"

does this mean its only going to be active for me twice a day?

No, no (that would be a waste of money !).

It means you have to wait a few hours after your payment. From what I know, then you get your personal clines by e-mail. It's active 24/24 7/7 and you don't have to re-enter the lines anymore (they're personal and stay the same and active for a long time).
