Skybox m3

After days of deciding I decided to buy a skybox m3 my other choice would have been the dreambox dm800 however it seemed like a much too complicated box for a noob. Anyway now that. I've brought it is all I have to do is update the cccam.cfg file in it with a cline and upload a channel list or do I have to install a scooby snack also can none confirm that the skybox m3 will work on a power line

Just do a Blind Scan and It will find all the channels on your desired satellite.
You dont need to Install a channel list unless you want to. Most of the channel lists for skybox/openbox are not uptodated and you will miss the channels with updated frequencies.
Skybox works on any ethernet data powerplugs.

If it is just 28,2e then the channel list on the forum that has scooby snack is regularly updated and it makes channels a whole lot easier to find.
Like microchick said home plugs (power lines) will work with anything with a ethernet port.

Also I've downloaded a channel list that was for the dm800 and all the desired channels are on there will it work if I upload that channel list on the skybox

If the file format is (.dbs) then it will work, otherwise not
You need to be looking for files with dbs format
The file will be like this TP_PROG.dbs

Put the cccam.cfg file on the USB stick. In the Network, CCcam settings, update by USB to load the cccam.cfg file off a usb stick, then manage cccam to activate the line, then reboot the box.
Thats all.

i have put the cline on the box!! now want to manage cline when go to network settings can't find cccam management file!! it's only network local setting,rs232 function setup and weather!!! see what i mean???

Do you have connection with satlover server (usually something like 'connected with *** cards')? Are there encrypted channels open (so you're sure you're connected)? If not, perhaps cline isn't good and you need to try another one. Be sure you use only 1 cline from the same satlover server at the same time (really important forum rule to avoid ban!).

Hi I don't know about the M3 model but the F3 model go to Network then enter 6666 should show you the cams.

If you want to use the desired menu of CCcam. You need to install a patched firmware to activate these settings. Have a look at the following link, it will give you some more information about the patched thread, Installing and some files.

Hi I don't know about the M3 model but the F3 model go to Network then enter 6666 should show you the cams.

The same firmware is used for both boxes so cannydo method should work.
