    There is not such thing as Openbox 3D. All the openboxes are able to receive 3D channels. It all depends on your television if its capable of 3D. You can not watch a 3D channel on a normal TV even if you can receive it.

      Please ignore my ignorance, but do not patronise me. I never asked about the TV.

      So I take it that any openbox with a "3 dimensional tv" will work with 3d channels.

      The reason why I asked was that I was shown a specific box that was 3d capable.

        Like microchick said Openbox are able to receive 3D signal and if you were shown a specific box to highlight 3D capability then maybe they want to con you out of extra money?

            I have a Openbox S11 and can say it works although there is still not that much 3D content out there.

              Its works perfectly. I can watch Sky 3D on 28.2, Sky 3D on Astra and a few other channels. The main point is that you need to have a 3D enabled tv. Some channels are avilable on 23.5 and some towards the western side.

                hi

                I agree with the above (not that much available atm), and also (personal opinion): don't expect too much of it (ok, lots of members probably won't agree - but the 3D I saw with some tv's really didn't impress me ...) - perhaps in the future ...

                  just to continue pan's comment. 3D content depends on the type of telly. If you are watching it with a low quality 3D tv then it doesnt make a good impression and just waste of time but if you choose a good quality TV then it all look very real and amazing but you can't be sitting in front of telly 24/7 wearing glasses.

                    Re: Openbox 3d

                    there is no such a thing called 3D receivers.
                    any DVB-s2 Will scan the 3d frequency and of you Go once its scanned.
                    Now its between you and your TV to how to watch that effects.
                    3D = 3 Dimention Effect X,Y,Z
                    HD = High Defination in Resolution
                    2D = Tom and Jerry

                      i just like to add that any receiver with hdmi can receive and broadcast the 3d channels.
