    Changing channel freq

    Hi,

I am using an skybox f3 with an updated tp_prog file.

One of the channels has got an incorrect frequency, think it may have changed before after the file had been created.

Is there anyway to set the frequency for one channel via the receiver or do I need to edit the tp_prog file? Had a look around the receiver and it looks impossible.

    Thanks

    hi umyk1 and welcome!

I'll try (although I've never seen an openbox for real ) - most boxes I know of you can change/add/delete the TP's in the setup menu. Have you searched through the menus? Isn't there something in the manual about changing/adding/deleting TP's? This is how I see it: delete the channel, correct your TP and rescan this TP. Think it should work.

Good luck and keep us informed please.

        Re: Changing channel freq

what I did not want to do was to a full re scan, delete my existing favs as its just a very long process to set favourites!

I had a look at the tp_prog file and it is on the wrong frequency according to lyngsat. I tried to scan the TP where the channel is supposed to be but when I complete the scan, I am unable to see all the channels that were scanned, maybe a limitation of openbox?

Anyways, the channel is still registered on the wrong frequency.

So, I guess it is safe to assume that I am unable to edit the channel settings individually.

          hi

So, did you manage to delete the channel, change/add the TP and rescan (only the involved TP!)? Can't you change the tp_prog file (with a texteditor)? About correct freq: you can always double check with king of sats.
Most boxes add new found channels at the end of the channellist and leave 'existing' channels on the position they were before the new scan.
Most probably: if you don't delete the 'wrong' channel first, it won't be changed after new scan (other freq).

There is no way to delete a single channel at a time, I have to delete everything!

              hi

as said before, I don't know the openbox, but I find it hard to believe you can't delete 1 channel (by remote control? with pc and an editor?)
-> any experienced sky/openbox members over here who can help a bit on this one (@microchick?) ...

                have read this somewhere,

the deleting side is so easy just highlight everything in blue than move curser over to delete and all the channels that was highlighted blue have been delted in one second
                -----------------------------
                hope this helps.

Yes, you can delete the channel or the TP from TP_Prog or the remote

                    Re: Changing channel freq

You can add and remove a frequency from skybox F3.
Here is the procedure how to add new transponder
                    Menu>
                    Installation>
                    Transponder List>
From here you can delete the whole Transponder by pressing Yellow on your remote
You can add another Transponder by pressing Green on your remote
Once you have added a Transponder
Press Blue to Scan that new Transponder

                    That's all

                      Hi,
                      Finally got it to work.

I was able to delete a single channel via Channel Edit.
Did a scan on the new transponder and got a few more channels than I expected.

this is the right procedure as microchik described above u can add and delete and scan channels like that but more advance if u want to add that transponder which u did not know there is an option blind scan press this u would be able to see that TPS which are not inclode in u r list then scan it this is an esay way to know abt the tranponder about which u do not know wishes and regards
