S12 firmware on S9?

Recently, I have been having issues with my S9 mostly due to the fact that it has CCcam 2.1.4. I get video but no audio.

I have come to know that there is little chance my box will get an upgrade officially.

However, I have seen in a forum that a person called AnonymousX has modified an Openbox S12 firmware for clone boxes and it has CCcam 2.2.1, the exact version I need to cure my problems.

So, I was wondering if it was at all possible to install an S12 firmware on an S9 and if yes what will be the result.

I'm not 100% sure, but its my understanding that they all use the same firmware.
The only difference is the clone and original.
But like I said, I'm not sure.

i read on another form that there is a firmware called inet hd s12 pvr and it is working on a original s9.

Did this solve your problem? Openbox s9,s10,s11,s12 seem to be same box with minor changes in hardware firmware is compatible only thing to look out for is original or clone box.

I had not the chance to try it...I will burn the firmware later today and let you know about the outcome.

I installed the Inet firmware for S9-12 but I do not know what cccam version it has since it can only be seen from the server end and I don't own a server. I'll post more info as they come.

I've tested with older firmware as well as the newer ones and had no trouble with sound, can someone confirm this, so might not be cccam problem can you watch f.t.a with sound?

I watch FTA with sound...no problem there. The box has two issues. 1. Ancient CCcam, and 2. Old tuner that does not support certain channels. (something to do with high 8psk and Qpsk which I do not understand.

I believe the problem I am facing is due to Number 1.

Have you updated your channel list or redone a blind scan some time channels change or move.

Yes I have...the first thing i do after installing a firmware is delete the channels, TPs and do a blind scan.

so you still have the same problem with the new firmware inet hd s12 pvr, may a fault with your box no?

I haven't been able to test. The server I use is down. Will be up this week and I'll be able to tell.
