    s11 ping speed

Is it possible to make ping better I know from discussions on the forum that on other sat boxes it is possible using the Cccam.prio file, but I think that it is not used in openbox s11.

Maybe there is firmware that improves it at the moment I am using: Firmware C2HS2-12-02-15:0578CMT has anyone used another firmware that improves the ping time tothe server?

    hi

I'm not 100% sure, but as far as I know, the openboxes are only clientboxes. You can just enter the lines, but not configure prios or other settings (server needed for that).

I know its not possible with prio file but what about the changing network settings to specify the fastest DNS servers like you can on your computers?

I used namebench to see what the fastest servers were and entered the values in the network settings did not make much of a difference.

My ping varies from as low as 12 m/s too about 40 m/s. a lot is dependent on your isp and what time of day it is.

Ping time to the server has nothing to do with your receiver, It's all down to your internet connection and nothing else

Using cmd I did a ping test on my computer and it was in the 90-100ms and after using namebench and using there recommendations I did the ping test and it was now 30-40ms. It is true ping depends on the speed of your connection but this did make a difference.

Anything under a 100ms for a server should be absolutely fine i would look at your server then rather than your own connection

The reason I started this thread was because I read a post on this forum about changing a Cccam.prio file to improve ping times to help with freezes or glitches.

Personally i have used a prio file but have never needed to as the provider is 100% stable without any hiccups this is why i mentioned to you that your ping is satisfactory and the problems your having is at there end and not yours.

You cant use the Prio in an S11 as its closed source, the closed source receivers i have used again never had any problems with any connections even with a high ping time.

I don't see how a prio file could possibly improve your ping.
Your ping speed is down to your server so I can't see how you can improve it other than to change server.

indeed, the info I got from different sides says also optimizing prio can help a bit, but doesn't make a big difference. Freezes are apparently really at the servers end. Also think this has nothing to see with your ping.
