    Openbox S9HD clone network problem

    Hi,

    I have some problems with my s9HD - after a while the network connection hungs up, and only a power switch off/on helpes to restore the connection - I changed the RJ45 network cable, changed the router fisical port plug - and still have the same problem.

    Did anyone had this problem?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you, guys

    Re: Openbox S9HD clone network problem

    hi

    I don't have an openbox, but some suggestions: reset you box (factory settings), re-install firmware of the box (if it doesn't work first install older firm and than the latest again), check router for latest software, try to take box+router+all cables off power for a night (helped me with another box, problem was some kind of 'memory' in the router).

    Best to take a back-up of your soft/settings/channels before you start.

    keep us informed please.

      I have heard that keeping the box on DHCP and letting the router do the specific IP assigning and port forwarding removes a lot of issues.

      When changing firmware be careful about which one you burn. "Official" firmware can kill your box.

        @kigh:
        as said: before you start 'experiencing' always take a back-up ; in case something happens, you can always try the 'real hard reset' with serial RS232 cable (thanks @microchick who conformed the presence of this port earlier).
        If you're not sure about the FW you want to install: search here or in the 'openbox-forum' if you find more info about it before you start.

          Make sure the firmware says clone safe otherwise there is a time bomb in the firmware which will brick your box and then you will need to connect to the RS232 port of your box with a computer and reflash with a clone safe firmware.

            I don't have an openbox. However I suggest unplugging all cables and check all the connections then plug them all back in.
            Failing that do a hard reset and start from scratch. Make sure you use clone safe firmware if you do.

              Need a bit more detail kigh it may well be your server and nothing to do with your box. It might also be the wrong firmware on your box.

                you will proberbly need to set your nework up, so again enter the Menu -> Network Local Setting and set DHCP to ON, if your router is not DHCP compatable you will need to manually configure the settings, once you have done that click Apply and exit.

                  Do you have the possibility to try another receiver at your place, try your receiver at a friend, or try with another router ...
                  Also, as @cannydo said: some more info could be helpful.

                    apparently there are some problems in devices with the network card. I bought the first one did not work, the LED is not lit network card, checked when the network fails, the LEDs are on

                      @kigh

                      Is your system a new install?
                      If not, was it working fine before?
                      If yes, have you made any changes to your setup/firmware recently?

                        I just answered this question in another thread. There was similar problem the only difference is that you only loose the connection.
                        Here is the link to that answer. It might help
