There's no need to change the firmware if you have already a stable firmware. You could easily add satellites from the menu. Find out the satellites location from the popular websites like king of sats or lyngsat and go to
Menu> Installation> Satellite List> Add(Green Button on the Remote)
Enter Satellite name
Enter Longitude, which is the Satellite location like 110e
Press Yellow(Orange) on your remote
Then you can blind scan the website.
Easy enough

whats the latest firmware for openbox s9?

It is on page two of this thread. As of writing this, the latest firmware for the S9 was released in December, 2011. If you find firmware that are labelled newer, as of today, they are not new...they are just renamed old firmware.

Most of the time the users make changes to the firmwares according to their own wishes. For example they change the boot logo, fonts and colours. They also try to embed different cams, like Avatarcam. Mgcamd, Oscam etc. The original source sode of the firmware remains the same and the size of the whole firmware doesnt increase than the original size which is 4.1mb.

I have a openbox s10 hd original, continuously restarts, which is the best firm to work around this problem, or is not the fault of the firm
