azbox bloced on checking

I have an azbox premium HD with the last opensat unofficial firmware, (I'm sorry I don't remember the number but I think it comes from canada am i wrong ? )
I sended the channel list with Setting maker 2.5 to the stb and after the reboot nothing else.
I sended several times the channel list without problems. This is the first time after a rebooting that the stb not working. The only thing that I can do is the rebooting, anything else. I found many post about a block on booting but anything on checking. My stb end the booting and stops in the cheking phase.
Can anyone help me ?

can you access your box folders with a program like filezilla?

if yes then something is corrupted and prevents start maybe you then can delete channels list (i guess is lame db file)

in any case ( and moreover if you can't access folders ) it would be better if you can access azbox folders to take backup some folders of your data you may want and reflash image.

at least that is my guess since i have azbox me model i suppose hd model is not that different.

I don't know the azbox, but can't you try a recovery with serial RS232 cable (install original software)?

I tried to access with filezilla but I couldn't (can't access). I read that I could try to install another firmware with the USB port, but this solution is recommended when the stb is blocked on booting phase. Is it correct for my problem too ?

I don't know the azbox, but can't you try a recovery with serial RS232 cable (install original software)?

It's a very complicated procedure, reserved to experts, I'd not try this procedure, but at least I'll study to try it.

for your info: a crossed serial RS232 nullmodemcable is necessary, try to work directly serial to serial if possible (so without usb-RS232-converters - some don't work).

why not try to put (official?) firmware with usb?

dear friend centone64 if it was my model azbox me i could give you easy answer since mine has a switch that erases kernel and image and you can start from fresh zero with usb.

so for azbox premium hd it is more complicated .if i understood well you have opensat image

it could be safier if you can go back to official image at the beginning for recovery as dear pan1100 suggested.

I had in the past the same problem twice and I solved it by resetting the Azbox by usb with the official firmware (patch 3768 if I remember right), or you can download the patch "9.9.4931" and resetting using usb (not the latest patch). After that use the patch "azbox-0.9.5309-patch" which is the best and reset the channel list. I suggest to use "FileZilla Client" program to reset channel list.

Try factory reset and then reinstall firmware again.

You should use some enigma release for azbox . It is much bether than opensat firmware.

Something strange has happened. After a wrong first attempt (I forgot to disconnect the HD), the STB started regularly without feel the USB memory inserted. The firmware wasn't been changed. Now there is only one thing to do to reattach the HD.

just keep in mind that if truly as you mentioned somehow randomly had been blocked and now recovered it is possible that it may again have this problem on the next channels list reupload.

i hope not but keep process of recovery on your mind.

and you may want to insert a newer soft for your box open pli images are good at least for my model azbox

The end : the killer was the HD. I tried all solutions and obsv to connect and disconnet the disk. With the drive connected the STB stay blocked, when I try to disconnect it the boot and check phases are performed regularly. Last test: I try to connect the HD after the STB was start, then I was going to the set up menu and the disk was not recognized. I don't have with me the tools to verify the disk or to connect it to another PC. I think it's gone. It doesn't matter ! :-( I hope my experience will help someone, whether the boot is not passed first try to disconnect the HD . It could be the problem !

I had same situation many times, but just one time disk had have hardware error. You should try repair disk with disk tools.
