For all that and I tested that are the same probe with OPENSAT firm in better e2 stoppages except I have no one but much better than when OPENSAT vision.

upcoming news on e2 (elite / premium + / ultra)
In a few days an update will come out of the team about RTI e2 on older models

The new features include:

- Part multimedia system (the maximum that can be achieved with current drivers and the chipset 8634)
- card reader operational
- Fixed audio (volume control, mute ok)
- Other minor fixes

After this release you can start talking about a series of releases for enigma2 Azbox, hoping to arrive late neutrino hd not (personal observation).

At moment for basic user original FW is recomanded, E2 is not 100% fixed and remote control keys has different funcions compared to original FW, so E2 is only for advanced users.

I use E2 (RTI 12) and I think the video quality is better than the original firm.
E2 is not 100% fixed, but basic functions work properly.
Remote control can be improved (keymap.xml)

I think that at this moment, the original firmware is more wife-frendly, but E2 has lots of possibilities of being better at all levels in the future.

I have bought DM 800 HD. Picture quality seems to be better on AZbox but SW support is like child(AZbox) to teacher (DM) :-)

I suppose AZbox has better pic quality and supports 4:2:2. Also has got 12V switch (for two dishes). All other is far behind DM 800 HD.

Iīm waiting for this post to take a decision and test enigma. Can somebody create a list with most important characteristics ... something like,

function whatever -- enigma 2 can do it / oficial canīt

If you wanna use Enigma2 don't buy an Azbox, this receiver isn't born for Enigma2. If you likes Enigma2 choose a Dreambox, or a Vu+ also a cloned Dreambox. Enigma2 is adapted on Azbox so it will never work well like a box designed for Enigma2.
The original Opensat is not bad, it is stable and Multicas let you do all cccam does.
Finally, Azbox has superior image quality because uses a different chipset: Sigma Design (it is 1080p capable) instead a Brandcom used by Dreambox.

In this case itīs the second time I wrong with the receiver... I hope sooner or later we are gonna have a stable enigma 2... still waiting

You're not wrong, Azbox is really good mediacenter receiver. Just it isn't born for Enigma 2. Anyway Enigma 2 (on Dreambox also) is far to be perfect trust me.

Plus for Enigma: channel switching, plugins, python.
Minus for Enigma: mediacenter is buggy, drivers are not always correct.

Plus for official: faster boot.

I have both boxes and though I love my Dm800 Hd dearly the AZBox using original FW is my choice of machines. Bought it when my OLED board failed while waiting for the new one to arrive. It arrived 3 months ago and I still haven't put the DM back yet because I have been enjoying the AZBox so much. Reminds me a lot of the early days of the DM7000! All good fun!

In conclusion E2 is NOT for the AZBox.
