Many rumors about Enigma2 and Azbox, by what I know E2 team has had official documents about Azbox drivers, so to develop E2 drivers based on original drivers, this will speed up the work for the first Enigma 2 working release. Like you all have seen Opensat is not releasing a new fw from 2 months and this is uncommon, rumors say most of programmers has been switced on E2 project. Latest news reports CI module interface are going to be ready. In few days should be ready the first working E2 release. I'll inform you about progress. At moment I suggest to install 4931 fw version much better then latest 5020 that has many problems in recording.

Hi satman72, which programmers are working on E2 project, the Celtun's ones, i don't think so...
Maybe OpenSat got independent ones?
And for the drivers, all of them (i mean Sigma, tuner driver, CI and so on)?
Just about Sigma drivers, more that one guy uploaded on net the driver sources for SIGMA SDK like mrua_SMP8634_2.8.7.0_dev.mips, mrua_SMP8634_2.8.5.1_facsprod_legacy_dev.mips.dts. work, dcchd_SMP8634_2.8.5.0_black_GCC4.mips and smp8634_documentation_2.8.5.0.
I got myself all of those above.

Maybe The_Ripper and Opensat have some relationships?
Nobody knows, but important is the fact that developing is going ahead.

from news I've Opensat has fired old programmers team and has started to support The Ripper and his team. They has had access to all original documents from Opensat, in facts if you go on official Opensat forum you'll see they let you know the new firmware will be a big step up.
The new Azbox's firmware will be E2 based, and the job is running fast in latest days. Those are all unofficial news, but if you're a good observer you've seen no one new fw release is out from more 2 months by Opensat.
Is new of today a new driver to read audio files is ready out for multimedia reader.
When I'll have other notices about I'll post here.

As i know, the OpenSat just haven't a developer team (or a valid one), it was the Celrun one, but as we can see they (the coreaner of Celrun) are not supporting firmware developing anymore (as you say 2 months without news of releases).
On official forum was talking about new firmware about 6 month ago (attention no enigma2 but something else) and from german distributor Impex-SAT too.
I was following the official forum till 4 months ago, but they deleted my account as other accounts too, and now i havn't any intention to recreate a new account to their useless forum.

About the latest news there is a new patch of dvbmediasink (mediaplayer plugin gstreamer-0.10) done by sattommy.

Aye shklifo all you wrote is right, when I've wrote Opensat team I was referring to korean ppl of course. Anyway I know just those ppl has been fired and The Ripper is now supported by Azbox factory, so he has all info to start a new firmware, clearly it will be not a simply E2 porting but a new E2 just written for Azbox. We only need to hope it will born soon!

This is not recommended for normal or unexperienced users who are not 100% familiar with linux.

Do not attempt to load it to a Premium+

Users are having difficulty loading, and reports are coming in that both Elite and Premium users are getting lockups at 25% of load.

It is not yet ready for normal TV viewing.

MultiCAS, Cheops, Mgcamd etc. will NOT work on this image as they are compatible only with variants of the official OpenSat firmware.

There are, as yet, no working emulators for Azbox Enigma2.

If box will stop at 25% of loading do this:

- Install using azup the original firmware (any version)
- At bootup DON'T REMOVE the USB and install original firmware
- While ended the installation and done first boot step up installing new E2
- Install E2 from azup

put usb stick in receiver ( with patch.bin E2 on it ), turn it off and turn it on.

On PC start AzUP and wait that receiver enter in rescue mode and list You IP address of AzBox .

in AzUP enter that ip address and click Update, sit and wait.... After programm tell You that upgrade is ready, remove usb.

Even today price is not to small, any other growing of price will just give OpenSat some extra cash( they did not give use final FW, just buggy beta ) for job they didn't done.

The price is not high for Azbox Elite, it costs like DM 800 HD clone, but the Azbox is a multimedia center not just sat receiver, also you can add DVB-T or DVB-C tuner into so to have a complete receiver. Don't forget Azbox is the only real HD box (1080p) and also it allows you to receive professional feeds in 4:2:2. Those are esclusives features!
