    random HD removed

From time to time my Amiko Alien 2 shows a message the harddisk has been removed (I did not touch it or did any other action that would result in removing it). The receiver does not see the contents of the HD anymore, but sometimes it does see a folder on the HD but cannot do anything with the contents. After a hard reset (button on the back) it comes back.

Anyone had this before ? Is this a software-related issue of hardware ?

I am running spark (latest version) and the HD is a version that does not need a separate powersupply. It worked for about a year without any problems.

I've not come across that problem but have you tried swapping the USB cable to rule that out?

It is a specific cable for that HD, not a standard mini- or micro-USB

        Hello

Maybe the HDD you are using is "intelligent" or "eco" which means that turns off when it's not used and needs some time before turned on again.

Try to find if there is some settings for HDD in menu in order to stay on.
