USB on Alien 2

I was wondering if it was possible to use a USB Hub (powered or otherwise) to give extra ports?
I wanted to be able to have my HDD and the wireless keyboard dongle at the back and leave the front one for media files.
I don't have one to try myself and I didn't want to buy one unless it worked.
After all if I could use one I would have it already...

I have since found out that you can use a hub on it, but it needs to be powered because the output is only 500mA
