two channels at once

hi,
i have an Amiko Alien 2+ running OpenARP.
just wondering if anyone knows of a fix so that i can watch two encrypted channels at one?
or watch one and record another, either by streaming or on a TV.

i have tried this fix, but it does not work
You need change /etc/udev/rules.d/60-dvb-ca.rules

Delete and paste:

KERNEL=="dvb0.ca0", NAME="dvb/adapter0/ca0",MODE="0660"
KERNEL=="dvb0.ca1", NAME="dvb/adapter0/ca1", MODE="0660"


when i reboot the box i am unable to view any channels.

i think its some issue displaying the second channel, its just a black screen.
if i watch an encrypted channel, i can see the ECM's come in for it, and for the second channel too.
its just the second channel does not display anything other than the black screen.

any ideas?

update,
it would appear that for FTA channels it will allow me to watch two at the same time. either watch and record or watch/stream or stream/record

when i try with a non FTA channel it does not work i just get a black screen on either the TV or the tablet.

Are you trying to do this under Spark firmware or Enigma2

Not sure if you have read about but there is massive problems with the Enigma2 side on these Amiko receivers and it is to do with the Cams and picture, the last i heard even the official distributor of the box was trying to wash his hands of the problem and only suport spark due to the massive outcry of problems.

This is a sort of picture in picture issue.
I have the same problem with my VU+ solo2.
I can watch/record 2 FTA channels at the same time.
I can watch 1 FTA channel and I encrypted at the same time.
Watch 2 encrypted channels at the same time?......No.
Obviously you must have a receiver with double tuner.

i have tried everything i can find about openarp and i cant get it to stream two non-fta channels at once. i have put on openpkt and it will allow me to stream two channels at once.
my only issue with openpkt is that i can not get cooltvguide to work when i press the EPG button.
it will install ok, but just not work.

receiver has twin DVB-S2 tuners

On my dm700 i can record one channel and watch another it just have to be on the same satellite and polarity. so some channels dont work when im recording. can say if its different with those 2 tuners receivers.

i put on OpenPKT over the weekend.
i can now stream two channels either FTA or NON-FTA or any other combo.

after some initial issues im well pleased with OpenPKT.

i never checked to see about polarisation, will check this evening if i have time.

I have been able to make my picture in picture work for 2 encrypted channels at the same time on my VU+ Solo2.

And I have naturally found out (should have been very obvious in the first place!!!), that both work at the same time if both channels have the same polarity.

I was never able to get this to work on my AR-P image. I could watch Terrestrial and stream Satellite or vise versa but could never watch and stream Satellite.

However, the minute I installed Hyperion v2, it worked perfectly AR-P is now a distant memory.
