Big Big Amiko Alien SHD 8900 warning

I have just been reading on another forum about the latest Spark upgrade 1.2.61 do not download it if you have a clone box (which i have just found out that I have) as it contains a timebomb that will brick your box. It won't brick it straight away but it will brick it at some point.

the best thing to do is reboot using the rescue image and not use this update.

I have had my Alien for about 6 months and thought it was genuine. Apparently if you have bought it from ebay then it probably is a clone. The easiest way to tell is if you still have the original box it came in then look on the top and if the word Alien is misspelt as Alein then it is a clone and whatever you do dont update to Spark 1.2.61

To be honest mate i can't answer that question. I only know about the Alien 8900 apparently it also seems that 1.2.60 has the bomb also.

hmm but probably could be the same with other fulan7111 boxes like gm990, amikoalien, pingulux. as i understand this problem only for clone boxes?

btw. found nothing about a bug or even a bomb in firmwares in ******

and is this report only 1 isolated incident..from what i have read it may be
