            Alien rescue image instructions

            Upgrade rescue sw.pdf
            More hints:
Save your database first, otherwise you have to recreate later (menu/system/upgrade/database transformer +red button). Same with softcam configuration files if any.
After resofting, you may upgrade online STB to the desired Spark release: Will be like a newborn, fresh but pluginless and no DB (to be added later).
If you have an UPS use it to power STB

Just bought this box "Golden Media uni-box 9080" I am told you can use the same firmware as Amiko Alien. This question has been asked before but with no reply so we'll try again. Does anyone know the username password for to FTP these boxes please?

On the spark side the password i believe is root & root for the alien 1

On E2 side it depends on what image it is with regards to password.

Do you know what chipset it has if it is sti7111 you will need to use alien SHD8900 images and if it is sti7162 you will need to use Alien 2 images

The Chip ID is 013912265e7c1010 Loader Version M3602A 1.1.6 made a backup of the image and its in abs format it don't let you backup anything else. What I'm looking for is transponder updates it did not have all the transponders. The image is up to date Mar 21 2013 gisclub. I'm wondering if the channel update is built into the image as I said you can ftp to the box but dont know password.

Is this image spark or e2, I have Alien 8900 but i dont recognise these id's. I only use E2 on my box and always flash the satellite.xml to tuxbox. I know when i used to use spark that the problem i had with some of the transponders was that they were on there but they were still designated as S & not S2 so the HD channels werent all dropping in and i had to scan them manually

                            Hi.
I would appreciate a tuturial on what to do with all the interesting plugins you have.
Some of these things are still complete mysteries to me!
I have been cheating by using a backup with stuff already installed but I really should learn how to do it myself.

Would it be possible for someone to point me in the right direction to find a guide for using oscam on E2?
FTP? Full Time Postman??? Haven't got a clue, please simplify.
BTW, I worked out how to do Spark, but not E2, I am using HDMU at the moment but I am happy to change image if I saw a good tuturial.
