Maybe it is for an internal fan to keep your dm cool if it gets too hot.

I think it would be a good idea to see if you can find the manual for the dm 800 hd pvr clone on the Internet describing the motherboard ports....valrug

Did your HD get electrical power when connected from this input?

is the tension is perhaps my hd need for more amps it can provide
                  I do test with pendrive

I also believe you need to manage the factory ...

                    "what is this usb input?"
i made the same question to my self many times on several device i had to open. the pc screens and tvs have one, dvds have some times, even game consoles and all of them are doing this: "nothing"
a tech guy tell me some of them are for testing the device for problem and to do that you need a special instrument. hope yours really does something useful.

                      Hell valrug

This usb input it's for a dreamcrypt dongle
and is not usable for common USB devices.

Can't be detected by the image but I'm sure
that can be used as a power source for an internal fan.

                      Best regards

From what I know that this port only supply’s a 5v supply so can’t be used to do anything in regards to software/firmware related issues.

If there is electical voltage on this input you can use it as power backup for an external hdd with a splitted usb cable (second input only for electrical power). I have such a hdd which needs such a second (and independent!) usb power.
