    help needed streaming avi from PC

    DM experts please help
    how to stream avi files from pc via vlc player in DM800HD

    I need a easy tutorial with Pics if possible

      I don't think a DM 800 can play AVI files, last time I tried it couldn't. copy the avi file to your dm800 hard drive and try to play it from the video button on remote.if it won't play then you'll never stream it from pc. you could convert the avi to some other playable file type

          ill also say that you have to first to encode it to another codec so that you can stream it

              Try converting your .avi file to a .ts file. Transport Stream files are the default video files of Dreambox.

                  Avi is just a container, it can comprehend lot's of different codecs
