Is there a way to mount PC HDD on DM 800HD? Any advice and suggestion, please?

Do you mean over the network? Or physically inside the box?

It can definitely be done (all Linux boxes can mount a network share).

I cannot check the following out, but on another forum I found it.


create a folder on the root of your c/ drive called movies then within that folder create another folder called movies, now go to the folders properties and allow network share

now on the dream

ip = ip of the computer the share is on
dir = movies
local dir = /mnt/hdd
options = rw
extra = nolocksize=8192,wsize=8192
user = username for pc
pass = pass for pc

What's with external HDD? Is it better solution to use USB HDD, esata HDD or PC HDD? What's most reliable and secure?

And PC HDD is external and u have many GB space
