What is 'Sat Fishing'?

Hi, Seen the Sat Fishing section - had a quick read thru a few of the posts here. But none of them actually say what Sat Fishing is?

From reading i get the impression - its about downloading files that are currently being beamed from a satellite. Without using an active internet connection. The datastream is from the DVB-S card in your PC.

Can this done on many satellites or only the one mentioned in most of the posts here?

****** search for sat fishing - only brings up results related to the sport of fishing and not offline file downloading. Does anyone have a wiki page link or guide to get a newbie started in this area?

What is the advantage to sat fishing? and where are people mainly using it?

There are Data streams which are sendning packets.
Mostly you can grab HD movies, Full Games, mp3's, etc.

You're right, but unfortunately you can not select data according to their requirements.

The concept is to catch what the real sat internet users are downloading at the moment.We can only filter what is downloaded among those which are downloaded in real time by others on the network.

Where do you catch that sream and why you know what the sar users are downloading?

There is more than one sofware for fishing.if you have an account with a server you send a request to them they then transmit your request to a sat,
The sat then transmits the data back to you, but anyone with the right software can fish for this data stream.
they can only get what is recieved they have no idea what they are going to catch.
You can not do it on a dream box you need a sat card in your comp. unless you can load the software in a dreambox,but you have to tune to a data streaming sat transponder not all of them data stream

Which is the best DVB card for this purpose ? I have Skystar pci. Is this sufficient ?

Hi that was what the skystar was first developed for so it should still work you need to select a sat that transmits data,when you do a scan it should say if it is tv,radio, or data, you will also need software like prog dvb etc.
