    DVB-S with vlc?

Hi, i managed to use vlc to watch analog tv, but what about DVB-S/T?
Are you able to tune a dvb-s channel with vlc mediaplayer supported by a bda driver?
i know it is possible 'cause some sw use it to show a channel preview.
What's the correct string to send to vlc for device and tuning parameters?

    Re: DVB-S with vlc?

Sure it's possible to use vlc as a dvb player
But I think you have to do it only if you are planning to multicast stream from dvb-card to network. It's easy enough to set it up if you are planning to use vlc as a server and clients app. I don't think you'll have success to receive more then one channel on other player as a client from vlc server.

I don't recommend to use vlc as a dvb player because
    - you can open only one transponder at same time
    - you have to know all the information about selected transponder - vlc won't find nothing itself
    - you'll be unable to use cs plugins directly - you will need something like MDAPIfilter
