    yaVDR with PVR on XBMC

    Hi,

i would like to introduce you yaVDR. 0.3 stable or 0.4 testing.

Its an easy to use distribution for VDR based on Ubuntu 10.04 or natty 11.04.
SC Plugin Packages availabile with additional apt source, cccam and newcamd working great.

Moreover yaVDR comes with XBMC and PVR Support.

All over its the best and easiest way for a complete HTPC with DVB-S2, Cardsharing and mkv Support with XBMC, with a good looking GUI and some other nice feature, e.g Ambilight / Atmolight / Boblight.

    best regards.

There are only hardware requirements. HD is working best with vdpau, Nvidia GT 210 oder 9300/9400 and later -> Out of the BOX.

Software is Ubuntu, and additional packages come automaticly.

working offline, too. But no Updates and no Cardsharing.

          hardware:
for HD/DVB-S2 a vdpau or vaapi compatible GPU.
          1GB RAM
CPU at least Pentium 3 700MHz for SD, Dual Core for HD.
a DVB Card, i recommed TBS 6981 or Sundtek USB.

Re: yaVDR with PVR on XBMC

              Sure,

              you have to add

              deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/bpl3f1lmoot...testing/ubuntu YOUR_UBUNTU_VERSION_HERE main
              deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/bpl3f1lmoot...testing/ubuntu YOUR_UBUNTU_VERSION_HERE main

to your apt source.conf and install it with aptitude or apt-get.

BTW, vdr-plugin-tvm2vdr is a nice plugin, too. It gets EPG information from tvmovie and convert it to vdrs EPG, with pictures and additional information.

main is in the line. Aptitude is graphical interface of apt-get (command line)

first, yavdr is ubuntu 11.04 + VDR + XBMC + NVIDIA VDPAU + etc. but without Gnome or KDE.
second, version 0.4 is installing without internet, and only with CD, I've just tested.
You have to boot from CD like installing ubuntu.
