    AltDVB multi processor issue

I would consider ALTDVB to be the best DVB viewing software for windows, it changes channels quickly, it has intuitive interface, it's free, but there's a very unpleasant bug in this software - it's kind a unstable, it may work for a long time than it hangs. Then you have to use task manager to kill the process. But if you will enable hyper threading, altdvb will guaranteed to hang after 5-10 minutes. I used this soft on ATOM-320 PC. It's weak enough, and when you disable hyper threading, it use only one core, so it's unable to drag even SD channels. At last I surrender and now I use DVB Viewer.
Maybe someone won such a problem?

    You are absolutely right.

In fact by activating hyper threading, using one processor it works very smooth under various windows editions.
Dont use more proccessor. Try to solve youre problem with graph files in accordance to dscaler. Dscaler seems to be the fastest and smoothes video decoder using altdvb.
    Please push thanks.

      Re: AltDVB multi processor issue

Thanks for the answer, even though I asked 2 years ago. For a long time I use DVBViewer and it works pretty stable even with single core atom 220. I use nvidia hardware acceleration and I watch even HD channels pretty smooth. So I don't need to use AltDVB or anything else. For now AltDVB has only one benefit comparing to DVBViewer - it's absolutely free.
      IMHO, for sure.

        i agree dvbviewer is ok

altdvb is classic and very good provided that it fits on your system

if not then not much you can do since it has been stopped from upgrades for years

Alt DVB was made for win.XP and thhen work very good but then was abandoned from developer team and in win.7 must use some special driver compatible with win 7.

you are right. But years without development altdvb is still one of the fastest dvb players.

SmartDVB ist similar to altdvb and in development. But altdvb is incredible smooth even in win7.
