Progdvb tested with:

SkyStar1 --> ProgDVB 4.XX for hardware mode (best ever DVB player with DISEC set up with USALS)

SkyStar2 --> ProgDVB 6.XX only software mod (slower than SS1 but OK - only software mod without DISEC.)

dvbdream... but with some channels it crashes (dunno why) so i have to use progdvb..

For me...DVBDream is the best - stable,fast,working perfect with plugins-but have one big problem-no support dvb-subtitles.ProgDVB is alternative - but is little unstable sometimes

Progdvb standard, one of the latest freeware versions.
Hw is Hauppapuge DVB-S Nexus.
Technotrend drivers v 219c.
Quite basic, but still good for me.
The only problem is the lack of 64 bit drivers for my card.
It means I have to stay with 32 bit OS if I want to use it and it's really a pity.

With SkyStar1 I used ProgDVB_4.78 and MyTheatre. As they did not support dvb-s2 i tried ProgDVB 5-6. Unfortunately only Pro version support DVB-S2 and the software is too heavy - slow response, slow start.
Now I am using DVBViewer and bought it. It is worth the money (there are version Internet for "longer test" usage). It supports my both DVB-T and DVB-S2 BDA devices. Easy custom codecs settings to use hardware acceleration of modern video cards. Various skins, subtitles, schedule recording etc.
Only OSD is very rich in skins and too colorful but to complex to use in comparison to ProgDVBs' which was to simple (did not check now).
ProgDVB usually have good modules for most popular remote controls.

I used all players, and think dvbviewer is the best solution.
