You can use the drivers for SkyStar 2 eXpress HD
here:

or you can also use the drivers for win7 in compatibility mode.

Win 8 32 or 64 bit?


You can manually put drivers in device manager. (Right click on "Computer" -> Properties -> left upper corner "Device Manager"

Right click on the Network adapter -> (in device manager network adapter in other devices)
Update driver software -> Browse for driver -> Let me pick... -> Have Disk (point on the extracted SS2 Driver folder on your HDD) and if asks that driver is not digitaly signed choose to "Continue" installing.

It Should work.

Usually 64 bit drivers need to be digitally signed from Microsoft so can be installed, this is the procedure to force drivers to be installed.

Anyway use win7 Drivers

SkyStar 2 is not a Win 8 device.
It was developed for Windows XP OS. So I suggest to you to make a hard disk partition with Windows XP OS in order to use your SkyStar.
Anyway you can try installing Win7 drivers because almost all devices works in Win 8 with Win 7 drivers.

SkyStar 2 is not a Win 8 device.

SkyStar 2 works fine under my WinXP, Win 7 & WIN 8 with the latest version 4.6

OK. Good news. But I insist the best performance for SkyStar is under Win XP O.S.
I think if the device freezes is because of the codecs or renderer. Try wiht another different codecs or renderer. And the best app. is DVBDream.
