    Skystar 2 - Hardware Incompatibilities

    Known hardware incompatibilities :

    Issue 1

    Motherboard : Asus P5N-MX

    DVB Card : Skystar 2 rev 2.3

Obs : no hardware conflicts are indicated in device manager but there are some issues

Conflicting with : Realtek integrated Sound Card

Symptoms : Strange sound from sound card while playng music / constant freezing of DVB Players / computer freeze

Solutions : Install last drivers for Bios, Chipset, Sound Card and DVB Card. Try to enable and disable DVB Card from Device Manager until you get a clear sound on playing music and the DVB card won't freeze anymore

    Please post here hardware incompatibilities

It can be due to codecs. Use codec manager to uninstall some codecs u accidentally installed.

I've tried everything but the issue continues, and more then that i realised that is a incompatibilty beaucause even mouse when moved seems to glitch a little every 10-15 seconds.

For now when i'm listening music i just disable the card using that litlle program allready posted in this section, and reenable it when need it and all works fine.

For me this is the solution, and indded i have an intel on board :

        1. When playng music to avoid strange sounds i desable the skystar card

        2. When i want to see a channel i just enable it again

Is not big deal beaucause i use the Reset Skystar Tool on WDM drivers so is not so unconvinient, but it could fix would be much better

Anyway the reset tool is the best solution yet

the biggest bug (in my opionion) is the problem that occurs if you send your desktop to sleep or hibernate and wake it up again. in this case the skystar has to be resetted / restarted to operate again
not really a new bug but i think its useful to mention it

Also tested but rev 2.8 on a gigabyte without any problems.

It depends a lot of the motherboard, the way motherboard manages resources and the skystar revision

Found a simplier soution, using the reset tool, when i want to listen music i just disable the SkyStar 2, infact i keep it disabled and enable only when i want to watch TV from PC
