Best combination of players/codecs/drivers to use with skystar 2 on windows 7 x64

First and the best is for skystar 2 rev 2.3 and rev 2.6d:

    1. DVB Viewer + FFDshow + Technicsat drivers 4.6.0 + Hadu 0.127

    2. ProgDvb + FFDshow + Technicsat drivers 4.6.0 + Hadu 0.127 (image color issue on rev 2.3)

    3. SmartDvb + FFDshow + Technicsat drivers 4.6.0 + Hadu 0.127
(with some issues for rev 2.3)

All of them work just fine using Vplug

For codecs just remember to change them in Options of your's DVB Viewer, imediatly after first install

i use option one but with one difference:

Is Cyberlink 10 free anyway, i can find a package with codecs, it only shows the full suite, do you refer to PowerDVD 10, wich is not free ?

I think you can find Cyberlink 10 codec in "K-lite mega codec pack" among all other codec.

                  nope i dont think so.

its the codec from the payware cyberlink power dvd 10. if it is included in the k-lite codec pack its illegal

As far I can see there is no limitation except trial period. I'll start a test this weekend, and i'll let you know the results.

Rev. 2.3 is a little older, it may not give the expected results like on newer cards

Hi guys I have a very old SS2 card (manufactured back in 1998 something). I still manage to keep it up and running using old stuff like driver 4.5.1 and DVBDream 1.4x. My question I installed the free divx codecs which is supposed to include the H.264 codec but I cant find it when I enter dvbdream's video preference. So my H.264 codec is empty and thus I can't play HD channels. Is there another codec or a walk around to fix this issue?

Is compercial but PowerDVD is the best if you also have a 5.1 system, it handles quite well up to 7.1 audio system
