    Skystar 2 windows standby hibernate

    i`m using windows 7.
every time my pc goes to standby or hibernate after i power it on my skystar appears as "not started" (yellow warning) in device manager and i cannot use it unless i deactivate and activate it again.
its kind of strange. does this happen at yours also. do you know some kind of solution?

the util from uttnls doesnt work for me. but if you guys out there have the same prob like me you can give it a try, see http://www.satlover.com/forum/skysta...eset-tool.html (credits to uttnls - thanks)

Tehchnisat has a lot of problems with even hot connecting the cable.

You can use the tool posted by me in this section to avoid the restart each time.

And yes it happens also to me on rev 2.3, thats the reason why i posted the reseting tool, try it for me works very well

      hi conax2.
i`ve already tried it this way. but this also doesn`t solve my problem.

maybe it`s just some faulty drivers or vmware workstation that also installed some virtual network interfaces.

os2222 i have skystar 2 rev 2.3. What version do you have ?

When you select the card and press reset what happens ?

On me is indicating mouse busy and the pointer freezes few times when i trie to move it and voila the card is reseted

This should happen in order to be sure that the reset is working !

my card just dont appears in the list, that means the list is completely empty. with and without administrative rights

i dont know the exact rev of my skystar but it must be a really old one because my remote isnt recognised as a hid but as a COM-device

The remotes from technicsat on versions before 2.6D are on serial port. So i have a older one without remote, just look at the rev on card and we know what we are talking abaout

I had a similar malfunction on 7 then it was necessary to switch off the computer completely, is possible system at restoration can't to distinguish correctly the driver and disconnects the device

Disabling and reenable it in device manager can solve this problem after standby.

Re: Skystar 2 windows standby hibernate

I recommend using Windows XP instead of Windows 7 or Windows Vista.
Sky Star I think is a device designed for Windows XP.
I understand that with the correct drivers there should be no problem, but I tested with Windows 7 and Windows Vista and really make much difference to the performance of the card, in my case, the PCI version.
If you enter the Windows XP compatibility mode with Windows 7, with the virtual machine for example, will experience fewer failures and more quickly in your Sky Star 2 or HD version.

The best is SkyStar HD2 but Win7 don't want working with it.
Here you can see all cards I know, but unlucky for you, I think all of them are windows XP based.

                        KNC ONE TVStation DVB-S2

                        PCTV Systems DVB-S2 Stick 460E

                        Hauppauge WinTV Nova-HD-S2

                        Terratec Cinergy S2 PCI HD

                        Galaxis PC-Sat Card

                        Harmonic CyberStream

                        Telemann Skymedia-200

                        PentaMedia

Look for these cards at ******. Some of them are out stock.
But I think all are designed for XP.
                        Regards.
