Skystar 2 rev 2.3 on windows 7
Drivers 4.6.0

Progdvb - Continous freezing

Smart DVB - lots of problems freezing, restarts, BSoD

Can anyone suggest a better DVB player ?

Try DVBViewer. It isnt for free but its the most stable and powerful dvb software i know for windows.
the free version thats included in the skystar2 package is unfortunately useless.

I found a way to avoid all of this problems, if i connect the wires when my computer is shutdown everything works perfectly.
And yes i can also tell that DVBViewer is the best stable player for this cards

does it have the same plugin support (acamd/hadu) like dvbiewer, cause sometimes hadu.dll throws an exception alert. maybe i`ll try the smoothness of dvb dream myself.
what make dvb viewer such powerful is the community and the enless list of plugins and osd`s for it.

DVB Dream is also a good stable player for this card.

It also support HD Channels (More smooth)

With Plugins support.

HD it won't work on a card that uses SD, it has to have hardware HD support and Skystar 2 rev 2.3 dosen't have such a thing


DVB Dream is next that i will try.


Progdvb makes problems only with Hadu activated

By BDA Device drivers do you mean selecting BDA when installing the DVB viewer ?

you can`t do that. you can only install windows device drivers bda or wdm

Progdvb works ok now with the new hadu version and ffdshow. No problems like freezing or so, i'll just stick on this for the time

It may be a good news for you dear that
HD is working on SkyStar2 DVB S card. If you have a good cpu, the video is almost smooth although not so as it is on HD supported card

You can see that the drivers are 4.6.0 (DVB S).

Can you tell me exactly what version of card are you using ?

2.3 2.6 or 2.8

I think this is on rev 2.8. Am i right ?

I' don't know how to find that verson information....

Is is written on card? or where?

Please guide me so that I' may be able to tell you

The version is on the back of the chard usualy it will be somewhere on the corner of the PCI card, it has to be somthing like : Rev. 28 written

Ok. I will open it and confirm its rev soon, It is not possible to open it yet.

You should use thanks button, anyway you have an Skystar 2 rev. 2.8 with dvb-s2 support thats why you can watch HD channels :P

I didn't knew until recently that Skystar 2 rev 2.8 has HD support, i thought that only Skystar HD has such a thing.

skystar 2 is able to show HD channels in dvb-s, but not to encode hd channels in dvb-s2.
