Downgrade to Win XP, or install a virtual machine on your Win 7, and try.
As I have Told On Another post, I think Sky Star 2 and HD are devices Designed for Windows XP, Because the performance of these cards greatly improves satellite reception with XP.
Since Windows Vista, there are many problems with these Technisat devices therefore always recommend installing XP if available.
Keep in mind that to install Windows XP should have all the drivers on your PC to the operating system.
Do not just copy Windows XP on our computer, we must be sure that we have all the chipset drivers, motherboard, graphics card, etc ...
If your computer is very new, it may be difficult to find drivers for XP and your PC, but I think if you get all the drivers, it is best to Windows XP.
Windows XP manages less RAM but also consumes less resources on your machine, it's your choice, greater stability with XP but always with all the drivers on hand.

Win7 is very good, stable, fast and, as u said, I can use 8gb of RAM...

I have XP mode on my Win7 but how can I use the card from a virtual machine? I tried to install the driver but the system can't see the card. Did u try?
OK, for those about have doubts, I recommend install XP for SkyStar2, you can use only XP for SkyStar 2 and windows 7 for the rest, windows phone, etc...
You can boot the one you prefer and no problems.
For SkyStar 2 you can use WDM drivers in Windows XP, not so for SkyStar HD2 that uses BDA drivers both O.S. but BDA and XP works fine.

I know I always tell you the same, but it is my experience, first I purchased a SkyStar2 and the last year I purchased a SkyStar HD 2, so I purchased an HD graphics card (Ati HD 4000 series) because HD with my old graphics card didn't work fine, many freezes, and so I upgraded my PC and now it works fine and HD runs very well with VGA or HDMI cables.
With VGA till 768 definition lines and till 1080 definition lines with HDMI cable.

                Regards to all Satlover members.

when i started to use win7 all players were slow. But sound driver was old. when i replaced it with new win7 drivers there was no problem with speed and stability. i think you should check latest drivers.

yes, use transedit, you'll find it in root directory of dvbviewr, there is also NIT support, so you should get all TP's
