I have skystar 2 rev 1.6 and the above drivers work just fine, try to install using "Run as administrator"

After downloading the drivers from the above links, try to install the package directly from the exe file as administrator.Check if otherr packages like visual c++ are installed correctly during the install process. You can also install the drivers from the device manager, but you should use normal pazkage install for it registers some Technisat filters such as skypc***x.ax other than the regular drivers too.

I just want to inform you that it`s better to install the BDA drivers manually via Device Manager. The whole Technisat package includes DVBViewer Light and a service called Server4PC. I don`t know if you need this pice of software but unless you don`t need it don`t install it.
On the other hand for me it was the only possibility to get my card to work. So manually install the drivers

The main difference between bda and wdm drivers, especially for Skystar2 series cards is very significant. You had better most of the time use wdm drivers.why ? Firstly if you natively use dvbviewer software, it is dramatically optimized for wdm drivers of technisat series. And secondly, if you have lower symbol rates in your sat, you will be very much dissapointed with BDA drivers because it will miss so many of your transponders while scanning.

On the other hand, on some high symbol rate frequencies especially in Turksat (ntv , ntv spor etc) , if you use bda drivers , the card can not lock properly. This has been tried on so many different hardware, the result is the same.

And if you use offline download, again you had better install wdm drivers, otherwise your card will not be recognized as network adaptor and yo uwont be able to use them.

Fİnally, wdm is still better even under windows 7 oses, beware BDA for skystar2 series.

hm so thats why i miss some channels? gonna have to try that out with the wdm drivers. but last time i installed them the didn`t run without any problems. my pc was slowing down because of the missing ip-adress of the technisat network tuner. i tried to set one but it was still booting up a long time.
maybe they`ve changed driver support. as i said, gonna try that sh** out. thanks skype!

You have to have the drivers fully uninstalled in order to install the new one. If you have any wrong driver installed you have to remove them first in order to be able to install the right ones

Can you explain more why do we have to install the TE version first ?

Maybe you are doing something wrong not installing some components beaucause Dvbviewer works just fine on windows 7 without installing whole thenicsat package

Also beaware that Dvbviewer TE2 is limited and plugins won't work in this versions

thats true. yesterday i gave it a try. only installed the wdm drivers in the archive and my dvbviewer couldn`t recognise the card. i removed everything via device manager and installed the "whole bunch" of crappy technisat software. i dont know how to get rid of dvbviewer te and s4pc without uninstalling the device drivers at the same time

[edit:] a little off topic ^^: can someone provide me with a sorted hotbird 13E, astra 19,2 and 28,2. yesterday i deleted my dvbviewer config (dumb)

If you assign the ip address yourself, the long boot times MUST be eliminated. That was always the behaviour I have experienced. As for missing channels, that is exactly the case.In fact rather than installing the whole technisat shit, you can just install the driver from the device manager and then just register the file Sky2PCAVSrc.ax file by regsvr32 /s Sky2PCAVSrc.ax.You can find the file in the driver package of dvbviewer. And as a last note, to register this file, you may need some visual c++ redistributable packages as well.

just search on ****** for "dvbviewer satellite list", install and then simply do a scan

yesterday i tried installing with the instructions from skype. that means uninstalling drivers + software again and only installing the device drivers via device manager.

                          register the file Sky2PCAVSrc.ax file by regsvr32 /s Sky2PCAVSrc.ax
i defenitely missed that step last time i installed only the drivers for the card

                          now everything works just fine!

You can remove DVBviewer from Control Panel after install, as fo Server4PC just go to Start -> Run -> msconfig -> ENTER -> Startup -> uncheck DVB-PC TV Stars -> Aplly -> OK
