Thank you for your help, but I can not see any .inf or .sys files in your attachment.

No driver install is possible without these files.

        Hi you all,

Please do NOT confuse the cards!

        Older card = SkyStar 2 (called SS2)
        Newer card = SkyStar S2

I need the BDA drivers for the newer SkyStar S2 PCI card.

          Hi mate,

I have just looked around and I found a page which can help you. There, I found a Skystar S2 fw which was last modified on 8th sept. in 2011. That is the latest driver I found. Maybe that can be useful to you.

I already have use this driver and it reports 4.6.0 build.
There is no newer than I already have tested.

Although there can be newer BDA drivers bud I suppose they come directly from Technisat so we have to wait till they release them.

Or are there any universal BDA drivers?

              Hi mate,

Maybe it would be worth contacting technisat and ask them to release a new bda driver for skystar s2. Anyway, I haven't found any universal bda driver which could be good.

Re: Latest SkyStar S2 BDA Drivers?

For now there are 3 technisat PC products for DVB-S2 - SkyStar USB HD, SkyStar S2 and SkyStar 2 eXpress HD. These are USB, PCI and PCI express versions of PC DVB interface.
Latest drivers for 1st and second cards are 4.6.0
For PCi-E - 4.7.0, like they called it in technisat. Meanwhile this driver reported like 4.6.999, something like that. This driver is possible to drive USB and PCI cards, but they work with it VERY unstable, so they in technisat says to use 4.6 drivers for them.
Technisat drivers consist of BDA and WDM drivers.
BDA drivers are very buggy. Main issues are - crashes when wake up from standby/hibernate, weak signal level and unstable work with dvb players. But in win 7 and later it's the only way to urge those cards to work for new M$ system doesn't work with WDM technisat drivers.
WDM drivers for win xp work much better. The card is treated as a network adapter and work with DVB players via special directshow filter - Sky2PCAVSrc.ax.
Me myself own an USB version of technisat card and I use it as a spare card. In winXP with WDM. And even this way I think it works far from perfection. BDA - unusable.
I wrote here many times - don't buy technisat cards for win 7, buy them only for work with linux or at least with XP.. But nobody wants to learn on other's experience...

PS Don't wait new drivers from technisat - they will never release them.

Well the main use for Skystart S2 would be on DVBViewer and DVBLogic.

Any advice on wich card to buy that wil work with both of these software?

I'd write it again, but it may be rule violation...

Prof 7500 was the best I tried, but last month it burnt by lightning strike with 2 LNBs and PC with DVBViewer. New PC (Acer Nettop) I bought, but PR6500 I can't find for now in SPb.
Now I use TevII S660 and it works good enough.
I watch TV with DVBViewer 4.9 , win XP

                    About DVBLink
It works with all 3 cards I have, but Skystar is detected with DVBLink only working on BDA drivers.

DVBLink I tried is 4.1, cured from greed.

I'm gona give up on this Technisat card and buy another card that wil work 100% with DVBLink.

I have to gather information on DVBLink forum for this.

Although I have contacted dvblink support but still no response for weeks now, so no support from them

I dont understand your suggestion, why would I like to try Alt DVB if I stated in my first post I want to use DVBViewer and DVBLink and need suitable drivers for this to operate.

The SkyStar S2 does work fine with DVBViewer with the supplied drivers from Technisat, but not for DVBLink as none of the BDA drivers works on niether on both softwares.

What is a GOOD affordable DVB Card: Any suggestions?

not sure it's possible to buy not in RF,16K RUR, about 500$

I swear all these cards will work perfectly with dvbviewer and dvblink, all of them have straight BDA drivers. Expensive cards are recommended in these cases:
                            - you are going to hunt feeds with unusual modulations
                            - you are going to use blind scan feature
                            - you love yourself very much.
If you just want to view satellite TV on your win PC with dvbviewer or dvblogic dvblink then even 33$ card will be fine

PS Absolutely no one like to push "thanks" button nowadays...
