    All We Need to share with windows 7 PC and Hauppauge 1

    Good Morning,
    I have the Hau*ppauge sky*star 1 DV*B card, that receive in HW the SD channel and, also, HD channels, in SW.
    I want to create a Client in local share, for view and record on the pc with this card.
    What is all necessary that I need to have?
    I put here my list considerations, that I Think is necesary:
    1. Hauppauge configuration with a correct drivers
    2. Sw for viewing ProgD*VB or other (what is the best?)
    3. Plugin for sha*ring client (what is the best plugin?)
    4. Other?

      I do not think there are any drivers for this card for windows 7 correct me if I am wrong (or have you managed to install it?), I would suggest windows XP or newer card.

          I prefer anyway XP for DVB television, but he can try.

          1. OK, + codec for audio, SD and HD
          2. Better DvbViewer or DvbDream.

              Many thanks for the answer.
              I try to check if I find the drivers for win 7 or if not possible I use Win XP (actually I have it and I can try directly on Win XP, for the first time).

              DVB*Viewer or DVB*Dream are Gratis or to buy?
              The hd video codec are free or not? I remeber that in the progdvb the elecard codec is not free or free but with the fly bunner visible on the screen.
              For the audio and sd video, I remeber that the haupp*auge nex*us have the audio and video SD codec in the HW, in the chip integrated.

                  DvbDream is to buy, but there is also a lot of cracked versions:

                  DvbViewer is the same, but cracked versions more difficult to find.
                  Here in the forum you can find also free codecs

                      If it's WinTV DVB-s model 564, than you likely won't make it work in modern DVB players like DVBDream, DVBViewer or ProgDVB (If you will - please let me know). The best you can use is AltDVB version 2.1 with SkyStar1 interface.

                      Also you have to bear in mind the card is DVB-S, not DVB-S2. I don't know what sputnik you tune to, but I seriously doubt you'll find some HD channels on DVB-S transponders.

                          I try to download the software to test what is the best for my HW.
                          I remeber that I have installed, since 2006 2007, old version of progdvb but without CS plugins, but with others plugins.
                          I try to test whats is the best for me.

                          @ herrr: Here in the forum you can find also free codecs ...as Elecard or alternative HD sw codec included?

                              Yes, but some quite interesting, for example on Hotbird there are 2 channels in italian language and 2 in french of swiss television (both with original audio for all movies and serials), DVB-S but HD.

                                  AFAIK only 32 bit drivers are available, so it depends on the version of your OS.
