Hi,
I get this message ,Could not connect to Dreambox on IP adress 192.168.1.8, check the IP address and/or your network,whenever i try to connect to my dreambox 500hd.Smae message with Dreamset as well.I dont know why all settings are right .IP address correct port 80 ftp 21 root dreambox but it doesnt work.Test message Failed to connect to the dreambox ip addresss 192.168.1.8 (port 80).

First, start checking if the receiver is responding to ping requests from your computer.

Also remember to set to "satellite receiver" and not "enigma2 settings" as you have dm500. This you do under setting menu.

Hi,reboot doesn't work no change.Please let me know how to check if the receiver is responding to ping requests from your computer.
I can confirm that DCC and FlashFxp works with same password and ip address

No mate , you are wrong

Dear @xuxuzim has a dm500hd , so it's an enigma2 receiver and must set "enigma2 settings".
In the dreamboxedit options, there are some buttons to make tests (test ip connection, test user/pass).
You can use them in order to find where is the problem.

test ip connection :Failed to connect to the dreambox ip 192.168.1.8 port 80
test user name and password : Could not connect to the dreambox on address 192.168.1.8 port 21 check the ip address and port number and try again

if you use Win7 or win8, click on start and in the search textbox enter cmd.
and click on cmd.exe
(to open a commando shell on others system, use ****** search)
After that a shell will open.
enter there #ping 192.168.1.6#
and post the result here

ping is not recognised as internal or external command,operable program or batch file

cmd.exe i did as you told me #ping 192.168.1.8#

hi,
your environment variable are not set correctly.

Go to Properties in My computer
-----> Advanced system settings (Left menu)
-----> Advanced (third menu)
-----> Environment Variables (botton button)
Select 'PATH' from the list of system variables and
edit and insert this at the end of the line #;c:\windows\system32#
this will solve your problem with ping.

You just need to type

ping 192.168.1.6

don't put a # at the start or end or you will get the error you posted above.

But is Your gatway 192.168.1.***? Dm's ethernet is ready?

yes gateway 192.168.1.1 DM500HD ethernet ready ,what else i need to do now
