i dont have a dm500+
but i don't think that u can flash a img file into a nfi based box
img files are usually enigma 1

My curiousity is based on the fact that there are lots of img and fw2 files for DM500 plus on the web.

Is it better to flash over the RS232 cable?

The safest way is by RS232, by flashing via LAN sometimes you may encounter strange behaviours

Flashing via lan is not recomended becouse if something go wrong your box is dead and u must use rs232 with dreamup program
