sat setting for double LNB astra-hotbird

Hi guys,

I have a problem because after a factory reset I cannot set properly my Dreambox 500S.

I used to receive plenty of channels but now I can hardly get only a dozen of them.
Very likely I couldn't set the two sats Astra and Hotbird.

I'm using Gemini 4.2 as image, could you help me step by step with the settings please?

Hello mate

Do you have 2 seperate LNBs or a monoblock lnb ?
Is there any diseqc ?

i don't see any external diseqc, does the DM500s come with an internal one? if not then:

No diseqc and yes I have monoblock.

go to Menu -> Setup -> Service Searching -> Satellite Configuration
select simple LNB and use DiSEqC A/B or Toneburst A/B

A for Astra> and B for Hotbird? but there are also many others choices, like transponders, manually of automatic etc etc, what to choose there? and

Should I repeat the search for both Sats? and from which one to start?

- yes A for Astra> and B for Hotbird
-automatic search is the best choice for you.
-do a search for the two satellites at once

Don't foget to try many thing yourself. this is how you can learn

thanks a lot I'll try once at home this evening.

all started because I couldn't FTP my DM500 via DCC.

Even if Router, DM500 and PC are connected (complete green line on the three device icons!) the software keeps asking for the correct password...and so it still does now after the factory reset... I don't know what to do about that, default passwords root and dreambox don't work.
