Plugin for HD in 16/9??

Hi mates!

I have a question. You know sometimes when you are looking at a HD channel, the picture is all small, then you zap over to the same channel without HD, and the picture is in 16/9 and over the whole screen, but the quality of the picture is worse. Are there a plugin or some setting you can do to get the picture in the HD channel to be 16/9 and in the whole picture?

It seems, that in this case the original Picture is in 4/3 Format (what you call small). If you strech this horizontal to 16/9 the format would be wrong.

It depends from the so-called flag that is implemented in digital video signal by broadcaster.
If not manually, I don't think you can do anything.

The problem is that some broadcasters (on 13° and on 28,2°) don't set the 16/9 flag even if their picture is anamorph. If you set your receiver to 16/9 - auto you will have wrong perspective in that case.

Please tell me which channel cause the problem as example, Please tell if it from hotbird. I never experience that kind of problem. May be there a setting issue.

This is a problem of several arabic programs on 13°, 28,2° and turkish providers on 42° east. They set the wrong flag so that the receiver or TV uses the wrong perspective, e. g. they use 4/3 format and set 16/9 flag - picture is to wide. Some broadcast anamorph and set 4/3 flag - picture to small. The only way for a correct resolution is to change it manual and to change back when you switch to a channel with correct flag.
