dm 800 hd clone help!

Hello! 3 days ago I bought a new dm 800 hd (clone). It is a Dream Elite Black Hole Enigma: Experimental from 15.04.2010; Image: Experimental of 19/04/2010 I have installed any image, so I got this.

Since the first time lucky with this Receiver,some things are not clear to me so I prayed for a little help.

-Under the Receiver-I label with Sim 2.01, a BL70.Is this OK ?
-What else could you insert the image and with which BL you would like to change?

As far as I know it's good you have a 2.01 sim cause it's the latest clone sim. If you wanna upload and try a new image you could try PLi image. http://www.pli-images.org/

You can find other images on http://www.dreamboxtool.com/

You can also check out the various threads on the forum, I'm pretty sure others can tell you which image is the best for your dm800.

PS.: I don't know if there are any timebombs in the official images but I would be careful.

Hi,
on DM800 clones, the best image choice is the DreamElite pacthed by ramiMAHER. They are for sim2 card and you don't have to care about the BL, everything is already patched.

PS: there is no timebomb is E2 image, the security control is done by the BootLoader code which check the security sim card

I think this is the same thing.
ramiMAHER is a well known dreambox hacker and the method to patch new dm800 BL is probably the same now
ramiMAHER provide also some patched image for oldest sim1 dreamboxes

It is not really true! Clones are made with low quality components.
Even the weight is much different between both, it is due to the sheet metal which is more thin.
The tuner has a bad sensitivity (but now it is better with the latest clone version) and the remote sensitivity is very bad. It is a little bit more warm, and chinese models have a fan (which do a lot of noice after few week of use). Nevertheless, it is a very good box comparing to the price, you won't find better for the same amount of money ! Personnaly, I am satisfied with mine.
If you choose a dm800 clone, avoid to purchase an old sim1 model and prefer a new one, it has a lot of problem.
The dm8000 clone looks good, but it is quite rare and difficult to find (few items in uk, that all On chinese sites, most of the vendors are escrews)

I can second that, usually the fans are awfully loud, my clone sounded like a tractor mating with a pneumatic drill. Prolly it will get opened and fixed later on...

As far as I know there are some cheap copies of DM 800 HD around. If you say Clone then it is same like original. I have Clone and I am still finding the difference from original. I reply the post previously http://www.satlover.com/forum/dreamb...and-clone.html, which shows the difference with pictures and my clone matches with original pictures.

You can reduce the speed of the fan, because it is directly pluged to the 12V power. Cut the red wire and solder a 100ohms resistor, it will reduce a little the speed and a lot the noice.

If you have a DE in the flesh ss76a 1.33d (pached version) and I want to upgrade to ssl76c if you just install bl76c or full image? Since I have a Gemini USB 5.1 (ss76a) whether to wipe clean and install complete with ss76c or not?
