    Re: HELP! DM500 freezes!

    UPDATE:

Just when you think everything is fine something has to break. It's not just Murphy's law, it's a damn Chinese law as well... Today my finally working receiver started dying... It says "Connecting, channel not found" or something like that and no matter what I do, I can't fix it unless I restart the receiver manually. Not like that really fixes it cause a couple of minutes later it dies again for no reason, even on FTA channels. Is my tuner dying or what? This is worse than anything... seriously, I'm not gonna buy anything directly from the damn chinese ever again...

    Ideas?

Perhaps it should test the second list of channels, I do not know whose're using now...

I don't exactly know what you mean mate... It's a user bouquet that I'm using right now but it doesn't really matter, even if I switch to satellite view it's not coming back.

yes i mean user bouquet,in my opinion it is best to put gemini 4.70 no bomb, cief settings list, ccam 2.1.4 good prio if you dont have prio i send to you,If you're still you have problems check cable and lnb,If the cables and LNB good, tuner is problem...

Yeah, I should test that too. Bloody hell, so what actually happens is the following:

I would say the tuner get overheated or something cause after watching tv for hours, sometimes even after one single hour I can still see the satellite signal and strength but no picture at all. (gemini image says channel not found)

I'm guessing it's a faulty tuner but of course it could a crappy psu... Anyone knows the right voltage and amp for a dm500?

Well you can open a box and put cooler and if it works then you can install cooler.

Well, I already talked to the Chinese and they said I can send it back and they'll exchange it for me. Probably I'm gonna try to mount a fan on the outside of the box cause that won't break the warranty and see if it helps. Too bad I couldn't find any fans at home...

Do you guys think these "tuner freezes" could be caused by overheating?

                      Re: HELP! DM500 freezes!

Well, i've uploaded several different firmwares so far, mostly openpli, gemini, pli jade3, nemesis. After a day or two every single one of them had the same problem. (channel not found/no picture eventhough i can see the signal/quality)

I already tried a different PSU, of course nothing changed. The box is not that hot at all. When this freezing occurs only hard reset helps. (unplugging) I'm really thinking about sending it back to the chinese.

                        Re: HELP! DM500 freezes!

As I said before, I used several different images. Even in my last post I said I used openpli and pli jade3... Please read my posts before posting something that has been suggested and proved not working. Thank you.

I'm using a Nabilosat image right now. I don't think it will change anything though. I'm pretty sure my box is faulty and it's not the psu cause I tried another one.

No, at the moment I am not using any prio files, i've heard they can even slow down the whole process of getting a key. It might not be true, I don't know... Right now the only channels are being watched are the ones with Hungarian audio on 1W. Mostly the sport channels, both from UPC and digitv. I'll make a list of these channels sooner or later.

Right now my only problem is, which is sure as hell hardware related that the remote SUCKS BALLS! Sorry to use these words but these are the closest one to describe what this remote is like. I cannot use it from anywhere farther than 2 meters from the receiver or it wont work. Well, sometimes it does if I i hold the remote in a certain angle. Is there any way to fix this? I saw someone putting aluminum foil in the receiver or something, dunno if that works or not... (I would bet not... but who knows...)

Any idea how to fix this?

PS.: My receiver seem to work with this nemesis image and cccam 2.1.3 so far.
i read ones that the people with this problem change the led in the box

Thank you guys for your support, I really appreciate it. I am sending back my dm500s to mydalle where I bought it from, and getting a dm800 instead. They usually have less problem than dm500s and at least my parents can watch HD channels as well.

Well this is a best solution if you can do this. Lot of guys buy in China and shipping to their home and they cant send they electronic back.

Well, in this case it's good for them as well cause instead of leaving me with dead box worth of 50usd they can sell me a box is worth 150 more so they are actually earning more money. Some guy suggested mydalle to me and i really hope it works out just well.
