Re: DM800 Clone tools
So, yes you can upgrade them (they were tested successfully on Gemini5), but if you don't have any particular issue you could also wait for next Gemini Release. As you want !If you find this post usefull, please hit the thanks button !______________________________dm800 clone, dm7000, BisTv & CsatComment

Re: DM800 Clone tools
yes but it depends of what you want
I heard also that if you remove the little printed grid (or black point) behind the panel (just in front of the LED), the sensitivity is better. Personnaly, I think it is quite impossible to just erase this little area (and if you have the same behaviour without the complete front panel it will change nothing!)If you find this post usefull, please hit the thanks button !______________________________dm800 clone, dm7000, BisTv & CsatComment

Re: DM800 Clone tools
Do you mean the PCB picture ?
You have to open the remote and to unsolder two resistors. You should replace the resistors by direct connections (=> 0 Omh resistor). It will affect the signal strenghtness of the remote. I didn't tested myslef. If you find this post usefull, please hit the thanks button !______________________________dm800 clone, dm7000, BisTv & CsatComment

Re: DM800 Clone tools
be careful before making these changes, the resistors are there to prevent current peaks.
The LED can be damaged.
The best way is to change the LED with another one more powerful, ask your local electronic component store or use one from an old remote control.
On the box there is a photo-transistor which act as a receiver, the infrared protection in front of the box could be removed but than the "noise" generated by low-power lamps, neon lights or other remote control could affect the sensitivity of the photo-transistor.
In this case is better to move the photo-transistor to a better position or to create a SMALL HOLE (VERY SMALL, 1mm) EXACTLY in front of the photo-transistor.
I suggest the first solution (change the LED)Please read the FORUM RULES and use the http://www.satlover.com/forum/images...ost_thanks.gif button !!!!

Re: DM800 Clone tools
yes, I agree. If the resistors are present, it is for a reason.
If you have another remote and if you don't care to damage one, so you can do it.
If you have a very very poor remote sensitivity, perhaps the LED is defectuous and in this case you can purchase a new front panel spare part (~50€).If you find this post usefull, please hit the thanks button !______________________________dm800 clone, dm7000, BisTv & CsatComment

but i think the problem is not on the Remote-Control... because i'm using the one which i used with my old (original)dm600. And with this one the RC works great.
So i think it really depends to the box....Comment

Re: DM800 Clone tools
The problem is NOT on REMOTE control, but the SENSOR on dreambox.
Solutions for this as mentioned in clone manufacturers forum:
1. Check diode in remote control using any digital camera run camera and press buttons of course remote control should look directly in to camera. This way you can check that buttons are ok i mean rubber if not go to electronic shop and ask for vanish with silver and put on rubber which contact with board !
2. You can stick a peace of aluminum kitchen foil around diod but not directly on diode just on the space around it. Now the light will get stronger signal because it will reflect IR light
3. Wash remote control board with spiritus but be very careful and gently with it and allow to dry. and put everything together
3.Find the specifications of diods in original dm , buy them and replace.

Re: DM800 Clone tools
@ScenicSat, try to test another clone of some friend of you if you can. If you see some difference, your Dreambox LED (not the rmeote one) is probably bad.
From this website you can purchase a complete front panel with the OLED diapsay and the IR LED receiver. The cost is quite high (60£) and you have to be sure that your dreambox has a bad sensitity comparing to other chinese ones.
