dreambox 600pvr

just got a dreambox 600 pvr from a friend who bought a new reciever
I have a VU+ in one room and I would like to makethis dreambox work in another room
my problem is I never touched this dreambox model and it has password locked , which i don't know
so I have to flash it with a new image
can someone guide me to what image i can give the dreambox 600 pvr and how to do it

If your box is a genuine box you can use an openpli image

Here you can download the last image released for the dm600pvr:

-http://downloads.pli-images.org/builds/dm600pvr/OpenPLi-beta-dm600pvr-20141116.zip

You have to use the Dreamup in order to flash your box.

Here is a mini guide for using the dreamup:

1. Turn on DHCP in the communications page and note down the IP address your DB was assigned.

2. Connect your box to your computer using the Serial lead and also connect an ethernet (Network) lead to your dreambox and router.

3. Start Dreamup.

4. Tick the box that says use network

5. Fill in your pcs and dreambox ip addresses

6. Click on connect.

7. Switch on Dreambox & wait for connection confirmation

8. Click on Flash and select the nfi image you want to send to the box

The program will tell you when its finished

I tried your suggestions above,and with your help and a friend of mine who is a bit more experienced than me I succeeded to make the dreambox 600pvr work again

I'm happy for you

It's a very good feeling when you recover a box and make it alive again

I also would like suggest you to try many different images in order to find which fits your needs better.

There are several differences between them and it's up to you to select the best image.

I always recommend OpenPli , If it work for you , don't try other Images
