... this is because you should better to replace this illustrative ip address 192.1.2.3

by your real satbox ip address:

telnet theipofyoursatboxsomethinglike192.1.1.1

put in my dreambox ip address and get into commando and then dreambox login/root

then get
busybox v1.17.2 built in shell (ash)
enter help for a list of built in commands

when i input ps
i dont see
- list current running process: enigma and cccam
ps

says pid user

thats everything on screen all numbers are followed by root ie 90 root 94 root

I think that you forgot to install cccam

Did you install it?

The fact that you have cccam.cfg doesn't means that your box has cccam installed.

Depending on the image that you have, go to menu >> setup >> add ons or downloads or blue panel.

It will open a download menu from where you can download and install cccam.

The last version is cccam 2.3.0.
Select it and install it.
Restart your box.

After that , you have to select the cccam as the default cam of your box from menu >> setup >> blue panel or cams settings (depending on the image).

no i havnt got cccam installed i said when i put ps it did not show 254 or 274.

when i press menu i dont getg a setup optriopn so cant download cccm.

there is 2 ways:

- satbox menu driven (like kalpikos)

- console (mine)


i tell you on console procedure, but feel free to prefer menu driven procedure

at this stage i need to know if :
- linux is installed correctly and running
- enigma is installed correctly and running
- cccam is installed correctly and running

to check linux, open a console on you satbox with telnet:
telnet ip
root
secret

if you've got a console, linux is presumely ok

to check enigma, list the current running process with ps:

ps
ps |grep enimga

you should have something like:
root@dreambox:/var/etc> ps |grep enimga
944 root 412 S grep enimga


if not: fix it
if running: goto next

to check cccam is running: list the current running process with ps:

ps |grep am

to run cccam debug mode
- stop your cccam
- start manually your cccam

-C <configfile> use <configfile> instead of default (/var/etc/CCcam.cfg)

but some platforms might not handle this very well)
-n show network packets
-s disable server
-t show timing
-l disable self-learning capabilities


so

/var/bin/CCcam_my.version -d -v -C /var/etc/my.CCcam.cfg


and analyze the logs

good morning
if installed a fresh image of commando 14.7 with cccam already installed on it i now have all channels working and unscrambled my problem now is the regional channels are rte and irish channels i need granada channels i have tried service scan with no luck how do i set my location?

You have to manually insert frequencies and make a search.
Probably the new inserted image hasn't those frequencies.
I personally use gemini image and I'm happy with it.

I'm happy that you solved your problem with cccam.

As about the channels, you can make a rescan on the satellite you want, or as I wrote to you some posts above , you can use dreamboxedit and a ready made list with all channels in it like Vhannibal settings.

dreambox edit neither a services nor a lamedb file was found in directory

you shall tell your dbedit that you have dm500
cos lamedb are for enigma 2 like dm800 dm8000 etc
go to dbedit options
