hi all and thanks for letting me join.
i have a old blackbox 500s a dm clone i believe everything has been ok the last 3 years since i got the box i have been able to update the channels etc a few days ago i tried updating my channels as i had lost some and when it had finished searching i had lost all the favorites i scanned and rescanned but no good i managed to re flash the box with a few diffrent images wich gave me all my favorites back but all scrambled except free channels i have since put back on commando 14.5 with all favorites showing the problem i have is i have tried and tried to insert my cline with no luck i have used dreambox control centre also filezilla but didnt have a cccam.config in var/etc so copied and paste it in there i can open the cccam.config file and see my cline but wont unscramble the picture any ideas wha im doing wrong im now having sleepless nights with the sodding thing if any one is near oldham lancashire that could have a look and try to sort this box i would really really appreciate it.

well, from all of this, it appears clearly to me that
you do not have a backup of your linux system

wich is a computer like a pc,
and consequently, the first computer administrator rule is to proceed
backup
on a regular basis, as an operationnal quality insurance

via ftp like totalcommander of filezilla
you can copy --ftp://box/ to /mypath/bu/satbox/today/

hi thanks for your time i have opened filezilla and put in ftp:/bo/to/mypath/bu/satbox/today
but get connection failed with EAI_NONAME-neither nodename or servicename provided or not known?

... this means that the ftp address is not knowned,

so try simply the ip of your satbox, something like:

--ftp://192.1.0.1

...

hi again i can access my box with filezill on 192.168.0.---
i can then go ino var/etc/cccam.config and see my cline but my box still wont decode scrambled channels.
do i need to put something else in somewhere?

Hi darrellcf

You have to calm and to handle the situation step by step.

You said, that you have flashed your box which means all your data is lost.
You will never find your favorites channels unless you have a backup.

First you have to flash your box with an image that can work without any problem.

Make any necessary setup in your box in order to be able to have communication with your pc.

Then, i suggest you to use a ready made channel list as Vhannibal settings in order to have favorites as well as all new channels.

Go here:

and download the channel list with the satellites that you have.

Then use dreamboxedit which you can find it here:

and make any necessary change in your favorites.

When you are ready, setup the connection in dreamboxedit with your dreambox and send the files to your box.

When you finished, restart your box and install latest version of the cccam and cccam config from the server of your image (downloads).

Once the installation finished, restart again your box and use DCC which you already have set up it correctly in order to communicate with the dreambox and transfer the c-line that you have.

Now, you have to put it in CCcam.cgf in var/etc of your box.

If you can't find the CCcam.cgf, you have to create it by your self.

i have all channels listed ie sports movies documenteries etc i can view all the free chanel itv bbc etc but all sly channels are scrambled.

how do i do the following?

Perhaps you're cline isn't good anymore? You can always ask your provider to check - or you can check with a free satlover cline (but honoustly should mention those get overloaded now and then).

hi i have 2 other boxes running at the mo no problems 1 f3 box and 1 v5s box all channels up and running unscrambled

have tried 2 free clines on the box still wont unscramble no sodding idea why it wont work bloody box

i havnt enough post to get a free satlover cline

... my understanding is that presently you have:

- correct and running image
- linux: ok and running

- cccam: -problem-

if so,
- check the fta: ok

then for scrambled:
- check card sharing, ie cccam
- check /var/etc/CCcam.cfg
- check clines, privilege
- check /var/bin/cccam.your.version

you can also run /var/bin/cccam.your.version in debug mode
and see what really happen out there

? have you feed back from webif ?

ps: although i hav'nt experienced scrambled sly hd,
it appears from other treat those are not available anymore from not-slyboxes ...

that is all that is in that folder no cccam.config

in dreambox control centre i go to var/etccccam.config my cline is correct.

check spelling and privilege: default cccan config file:
/var/etc/CCcam.cfg
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 134 Sep 14 18:12 CCcam.cfg

go in var/bin/

check if enigma1 or enigma2
if enigma1, i have the binary cccam in /var/bin

you can also run /var/bin/cccam.your.version in debug mode
how do i do that?

- start telnet session:
telnet 192.1.2.3

- list current running process: enigma and cccam
ps

- stop your cccam

- start manually your cccam

/var/bin/CCcam_my.version --help
usage: CCcam [-d] [-C <configfile>]
-d run in the foreground (implies -v and -q)
-v be verbose
-q don't use syslog (use on old systems)
-C <configfile> use <configfile> instead of default (/var/etc/CCcam.cfg)
-f filter on specific demux data (saves some CPU,
but some platforms might not handle this very well)
-n show network packets
-s disable server
-t show timing
-l disable self-learning capabilities

so

/var/bin/CCcam_my.version -d -v -C /var/etc/my.CCcam.cfg

and analyze the logs

opened a command prompt

get telnet is not recognised as a inernal or external command operable program or batch file.

just trying to get telnet client installed on windows via control panel programs and features
